We’ve asked members of the Fashion in Leeds network to tell us more about who they are. This week, we spoke to Jenessa Williams, a Freelance journalist and blogger.
Who are you, and what do you do?
My name is Jenessa Williams, and I am a freelance journalist and blogger. I also work in vintage retail, and I am currently studying a Masters degree in Media, Communication and Cultural studies. I hope to graduate to become a part time lecturer in addition to my Journalistic work, teaching Music Journalism and Feature Writing.
Who, or what, inspires you?
Colour! Everything I do, wear, write and admire has to be colourful. I’m very inspired by creatives who don’t define themselves by one job – I love seeing people follow their passions, be their own boss and multitask in whatever they feel they can best lend their skills to. I think it’s where our industry is headed.
Favourite shops or brands?
I’m a big fan of local businesses Village and Colours May Vary – it’s a dream of mine to one day run a beautiful magazine of my own. I’m also very inspired by the work of Short Press, Geofleur, Mog’s and The Little Bookshop – strong women building amazing brands.
Who would you love to collaborate with?
See above! I’m open to collaborations with anybody in the realm of music, arts and fashion, especially if there is a Leeds focus.
Where can we follow you online?
